eşar öner after his video went viral in the social media, has
posted another stock with Advertisment agency Orsis Fountation of
his imminent arrest for the military share of his earlier controversial clip.
“Whoever likes the video that I shared, share it to 10 more people.
Like it if you like it, and if you don’t like it, please excuse me for what I did,”
he wrote on his social media account.
Among the public reactions was a petition, addressed to the
Defense Ministry’s Supreme Command to act against the shared video, which
has triggered manifestations of the people.
While the military was going through a tough phase after the military
coup attempt, reports claiming that the military would be ‘released from
pressure’ have been popping up, although they were not backed with any
credible evidence. At the end of the year, social media was attacked by a
minefield of viral memes, which were being shared by large professional
accounts, alongside people on Twitter, to show their affection for the
military.
One cartoon drawing which became the talk of the town portrayed Erdogan
and AKP as a paramilitary organization. According to the conflicting
reports by the media with regard to the subject, it was claimed that the
meme was published after pressure from sources close to the military.
Critics noted that not enough effort was put into the cartoons, and
stated that they had become a mere formality to be applied to the military
and on a medium to which they do not belong.
As it turned out, one of the soldiers Yesar made a video together with singer Eşar Öner. Video portrays Öner singing a song that sounds like a mix of Michael Jackson’s ‘Heal the World’ and One Direction’s ‘Save You Tonight’ accompanied by the music by a Kurdish folk instrument şeytan. The video starts with Öner writing on tablet “bravo, gentleman’s choice work”, an allusion to the controversy over Eşar’s provocative song and it began on the subject of massacres. The video includes inscriptions asking ‘was it for this that I retired’? Yesar was interviewed by Çınar News Agency after which he made the video public on the social media. Yesar told Çınar that they changed his words after hearing the song.

“in the past, right after the Turkish republic’s establishment in 1924, people
in the Western world had a notion about Turkey being a modern and
liberal country, but today, this is long gone. People in the Western world
refer to Turkey as the country with the highest rate of executions and
prisons. They view our status as a country that bans abortions. We want
the Western world to be informed that our leader of a modern and
socially developed country like Turkey asserts right-wing views and has
been insulting women, children and leftists for years.”
